Scores: Aries 0; Taurus 1; Gemini 0; Cancer 1; Leo 2; Virgo 7; Libra 2; Scorpio 0; Sagittarius 1; Capricorn 3; Aquarius 0; Pisces 1
These are some of the energies associated with Virgo -
Meticulous, discriminating, pure, practical, health conscious, hard working. Can also tend be hyper-critical, petty and perfectionistic.

These are some of the energies associated with Capricorn -
Disciplined, responsible, reliable, industrious, conscientious, practical, achieving. Can be pessimistic, overly conventional, rigid, materialistic, and callous.
Scores: Fire 3; Earth 11; Air 2; Water 2

Earth is a Yin or Feminine element. The strength of Earth denotes reliability, stability, solidity, stoicism, sensuality, and practicality. You tend to be a practical and efficient, hands-on person. You can be relied on to take a common-sense approach to most matters. Your down-to-earth manner stands you in good stead for all of the daily and more mundane chores of life. Your weakness lies in your sometimes stubborn refusal to make changes in your life. Watch out for a tendency to stifle both your own and other people's enthusiasms and passions.

Whoops! My computer just noticed that you're a bit weak in the element of Air.

Perhaps, before going on, I should mention that when counting the elements I use a method "quasi-based" on the method that astrologer extraordinaire Richard Idemon utilized when counting the elements. That means I only use the two luminaries (the Sun and the Moon) and the seven planets - Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

I do NOT count the element of the Ascendant or the Midheaven. As important as they are, the Ascendant and Midheaven are filters or doorways into the birth chart and do not "act" in the same way that a planet does.

Air is a Yang or Masculine element. It denotes communication, talking, writing, thinking, intellect, a quick flow of ideas.

The traditional view is that being weak in the element of Air you lack objectivity - the ability to stand back and view aspects of life from a detached and rational perspective. You have difficulty making decisions and in the process of weighing up the pros and cons in a logical manner.

This description may fit you quite well....Often that is the case....

But just as often it's not. Lack of air in the birth chart may mean that you end up focusing your attention on what's missing. You may in fact end up overcompensating for what you lack. Quite often your life myth may be focused and consumed around freeing yourself from the 'curse of the missing (or weak) element.' You may in fact appear to others as an extremely airy and detached (both in your personality traits and in your actions) individual. But no matter how over-developed you may become in accessing the energies of air - it may never 'feel' under your conscious control. It seems to come and go with a will of its own. You're never allowed to become comfortable with its presence. You're never allowed to take its presence in your life for granted. You have to work at it. While not a hard and fast rule, this 2nd description of overcompensation fits most often if you lack the Element of Air in your chart and your Ascendant is likewise located in the Element of Air. Air signs are Gemini, Libra, and Pisces.

Here's an extra that's not meant to be a hard and fast rule - if you marry relatively young in life, often times it will be to someone strong in the element you lack. They may be likely to have their Sun, Moon, or Ascendant in the element you lack. Air signs are Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius.

Whoops! My computer just noticed that you're a bit weak in the element of Water.

Water is a Yin or Feminine element. It denotes feeling, nurturance, security, caring, and comfort.

The traditional view is that being weak in the element of Water you are likely out of kilter with your feelings and emotions. Crying and/or otherwise losing your cool in front of other people would be a horrifying thought, let alone action, for you. You often lack compassion for others in your human relationships, and need to learn to honor both your own and other people's deeply held feelings and emotions.

This description may fit you quite well... Often that is the case... But just as often it's not.

Lack of water in the birth chart may mean that you end up focusing your attention on what's missing. You may in fact end up overcompensating for what you lack. Quite often your life myth may be focused and consumed around freeing yourself from the 'curse of the missing (or weak) element.'

You may in fact appear to others as someone who is an extremely feeling, and sensitive (both in your personality traits and in your actions) individual. But no matter how over-developed you may become in accessing the energies of water - it will never 'feel' under your conscious control. You're never allowed to become comfortable with its presence. It may seem to come and go, all with a will all its own. You're never allowed to take its presence in your life for granted. You have to work hard at it and for it.

While not a hard and fast rule, this 2nd description of overcompensation fits most often if you lack the Element of Water in your chart and your Ascendant is likewise located in the Element of Water. Water signs are Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces.

Here's an extra that's not meant to be a hard and fast rule - if you marry relatively young in life, often times it will be to someone strong in the element you lack. They may be likely to have their Sun, Moon, or Ascendant in the element you lack. Water signs are Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces.

Scores: Cardinal 6; Fixed 3; Mutable 9
The Mutable signs are: Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini and Virgo. Mutable denotes wanting to be flexible and adaptable. The basic essence of mutable signs is flexibility and being motivated by adapting to a mix of internal and external forces. You generally enjoy change - and tend to get bored if you get caught in too much routine. You expect others to be flexible, like yourself. You may have a tendency to procrastinate. All the mutable signs have the reputation of being "shape shifters."

Scores: 1st 0; 2nd 1; 3rd 0; 4th 3; 5th 0; 6th 1; 7th 1; 8th 0; 9th 0; 10th 3; 11th 5; 12th 4
The Fourth House is about home and family. It describes your roots, your heritage and your private life.
The Tenth House is about your public life and public standing. The Tenth House is how you prefer for society to see you. It shows your standing in the community, career, social status and can reflect your attitude to parenting. The Tenth House is also sometimes known for describing your physical appearance.
The Eleventh House is about your friendships and relationship with groups of people. It is also about your hopes, dreams, and aspirations.
The Twelfth House is about endings and dissolution into the universe. It is about your hidden strengths and weaknesses. It is also about institutions such as hospitals, jails, libraries and the armed services. It is also about creativity, sensuality, sacrifice and redemption. (Hang on... I'm trying to remember if there's anything The Twelfth House isn't associated with....)

Scores: 1st Quadrant 1; 2nd Quadrant 4; 3rd Quadrant 1; 4th Quadrant 12
The planets in this quadrant will highlight the areas of life in which you want to express yourself. I call this Quadrant the "Warrior Quadrant;" and the archetype of the Warrior features strongly in your life and in your actions. You battle mightily in order to make your mark on the world in some way.

You may have a tendency to consciously (or unconsciously) look at life from the simple perspective of right and wrong, black and white, good and evil, us and them. Your strong urge for overcoming the unseemly, uncouth forces of evil may be beneficial in your life and put you in good stead. However the caution is that this urge could become disruptive if you become a little too caught up in whatever the ideal, principle, or cause in life that you're serving.

Scores: Eastern 13; Northern 5; Western 5; Southern 13
With this placement you tend to be a self-motivated and self-oriented individual. You enjoy being a pioneer - mapping out your own life and following your own unique path. You generally only experience trouble when some poor unlucky soul has the bad fortune to stand in your way.

You tend to place a great deal of value on your sense of independence and strength, and you tend enjoy and revel in your own company. At the same time, you generally enjoy the company and companionship of other people, but only if and when they're willing to give you plenty of freedom for your own pursuits.

If would be helpful for you to keep a close eye out for potentially egocentric and selfish behavior on your part. The other thing to watch out for is that you can be so darned focused on what's up ahead that you fail to notice who's behind you (and stabbing you in the back).

Public life is often the high point for you. Personal satisfaction often comes from your achievements in the world, and you tend to learn the most about yourself through your interactions in the public arena. It's likely that you generally speak first and think things through while you're speaking. You probably formulate your best ideas by bouncing them off other people. Your unconscious need for a high public profile could be met through both your career and your social status. You need to make doubly sure that your achievements don't come at the expense of your loved ones.

Moon 135 to 180 degrees ahead of the Sun.
Hang on now! You don't want to skip over this short, but significant, description of the Soli-Lunar cycle based on the insights of astrologer, Dane Rudhyar. As a Gibbous Moon Soli-Lunar type, you tend to be a resourceful and goal-oriented person. You seek deeper purpose and meaning in your life and in the life of your community. You can often be found seeking knowledge to add value to your life, and you may devote yourself to a cause.

With airy Libra as your Ascendant guide on your journey - you move toward in life in a fair and balanced manner always attempting to take into account the thoughts and feelings of others. Harmony and accord are likely of great import to you. The ruler of your Ascendant is the planet Venus.

Along with the Sun, the Moon, and the Ascendant Sign - the ruling planet of your Ascendant will play an "enhanced role" in your life. So check this report out for any interpretation texts regarding Venus' sign placement, house placement, and other planets which aspect Venus. You'll read more about your Ascendant toward the end of this report.

With passionate Scorpio on the cusp you have like intense feelings about money, possessions, and the things that you value. You'll discover that at time you may be envious and resentful of other people's good fortune. You value your intensity.

You are likely an animated, enthusiastic conversationalist who likewise takes pleasure in educational and learning pursuits. You likely have the ability to motivate others and get them moving and grooving via your talent for speech and/or writing.

You likely have a strong and robust regard for the traditions, rituals, and customs of family. You are a practical and reliable member of the family. However, as a small child, you may have felt somehow inhibited and/or restricted by your family. As an adult you could potentially become a mainstay, stronghold, and port in the storm for other family members.

You like to express your sense of uniqueness and individuality through the medium of play and recreation. You likely enjoy stimulating and innovative games.

Your daily routine may tend to be a wee bit blurry and chaotic in nature. You may find it difficult to concentrate on all your, oh so boring, daily chores and duties.

You prefer to retain your sense of independence and self-determination when in a close relationship. You like feel more comfortable and at ease with an active and freedom-loving partner. You could become a wee bit aggressive if you discover that you feel caged in by your partner. Or in the reverse, these may be the characteristics that you (project and) admire in your partners.

You enjoy sharing sensual pleasures with others. You likely have a traditional and practical approach when it comes to shared resources.

You are curious about the world, and may enjoy traveling overseas trips and academic studies as means to satisfy your innate instinctive sense of curiosity.

Cardinal Water - You prefer to be seen as a nurturer. You likely prefer a safe and secure profession, and caring for others in some way is often a key. You will experience strong emotions and feelings about your public status and life.

You have a lot of fun and excitement with good friends. You enjoy creative group activities, particularly if you are the one taking the lead.

You may have a nasty tendency for obsessive-compulsive thoughts, and fear fully letting loose and letting your hair down, because when you do you've discovered that your imperfections are often inescapably revealed.

Psst! Hey, you! Come over here! (Yeah, that means you!) Pay close attention for a minute, because the Sun is the very heart of your natal chart. Of course, the Sun’s zodiac sign placement is probably the one part of your birth chart which you were already at least quasi-aware of (unless you happen to be one of those folks born at the very beginning or end of a sign). Think for a second about some of the concepts generally associated with the energies of the Sun: Glowing, warmth, powerful, dependable, shining, cheery, life-giving, new growth, fiery, new beginnings, sunshine, bright skies, center of our galaxy,

In mythology, the Sun is further associated with the great sky god, the Great Father (as well as our own earthly father), gold and other treasures. In the birth chart, the Sun symbolizes the role of the Hero and the Royal Ruler.... and the Sun is the main character in your adventure and quest through this lifetime.

The Sun reflects those heartfelt energies which need to be explored, developed and experienced in order for you to be more fully, wholly "you." But not everyone lets their Sun shine out. The Sun's energies are consciously developed over the course of a lifetime.

The Sun in earth.... is a world of concrete reality and sensory perception, with its roots built on earthy, physical sensations. The Sun in earth feels most comfortable surrounded with the world of the five senses.... Whatever cannot be touched, heard, smelled, seen or tasted is either denied or made as concrete and tangible as possible. The Sun in earth is a consciousness sold on physical security -- sold on the here and the now. And the search for security can often tend to make one conservative and practical.

Save the day, preserve things.... Build bridges, fix things.... Serving others, solving problems.... Any of this sound even vaguely familiar? I thought so....

Ruled by Mercury, Virgo energy often "shimmers" with intelligence. Like its flightier cousin, Gemini, (also ruled by Mercury) Virgo is a mental sign. But Virgo’s intelligence is directed toward practical matters and practical solutions. And Virgo desperately wants to be of service by fixing things, situations or people. Virgo energy is analytical, ordered, critical, and discriminating. And Virgo energy can focus in on the very smallest of details.

Your birth Sun is the hero of your mythic journey through this lifetime. So Let Your Light Shine!

Virgo and Love (written to share with your mate, if you dare)
Yep! I admit it. For years and years and years, I've been reading Virgo all wrong. At least according to astrologer, Liz Greene, I'm all wet about the primary motivating archetypal force behind Virgo. (Unfortunately, there happens to be an incredibly valid reason as to why she would probably know a heck of a lot more about Virgo energy than I do.)

Anyway, according to Liz Greene, the motivating force behind Virgo is not "perfectionism." The primary motivating force behind Mercurial Virgo is that of "synthesizing." i.e. "How do I take all these different, unrelated bits and pieces and then synthesize them into something practical and useful?" I still give "perfectionism" a close second place, regardless of what Liz Greene thinks. Darn it, I know in my heart that all the Virgos reading this description are - at this very moment - mentally doing a spelling check and looking for looking for incorrect punctuation.

Before any of you "dyed-in-the-wool" Liz Greene fans decide to write in with hate mail for my being too critical of her, I should tell you that Liz Greene still happens to be my favorite living astrologer/writer. She just can't be right 100% of the time. Even I'm only right 95% of the time.

Anyway, it's important for Virgo's lover to know that Virgo feels the safest when being practical, useful, and productive. If Virgo can "figure out" and analyze his or her environment, then they generally feel a lot safer and happier. If Virgo is happy, everybody is happy. If Virgo is unhappy, then (trust me) ain't nobody happy. The nicest things Virgo's partner can do to emotionally reassure Virgo are those little everyday practical expressions of affection which include sharing equally in the household chores and bringing Virgo a cup of chicken soup when he or she is sick.

Barring other factors in the chart - as an "Earth Sign" - physical closeness, touch, and affection are often the best ways Virgo's "significant other" can express (and reassure) Virgo of their continuing love and affection. (i.e. A hug a day keeps the doctor away.) Likewise, Virgo's lover withholding physical expressions of love and affection is an ironclad, guaranteed way to make Virgo feel all alone and unloved.

As for Virgo and "virginity?" I can personally testify to the fact that in the privacy of their own home (and behind closed doors), Virgonian energy may be anything other than what one might typically associate with being "virginal. "Virgo, with the Sun in the element of Earth, feels the safest and most comfortable when surrounded with the world of the five senses... sense of touch, sound, smell, sight, and taste.

If you think about it for just a second, all of that sounds downright hot, sexy, and lusty, doesn't it? In fact, since Virgos pride themselves in regard to their practical, technical abilities - Virgo's technical proficiency will likely come in very handy in the bedroom.

Shadow: As an emotional defense against stress, the more uncomfortable Virgo feels with their environment - the more critical, fussy, and petty Virgo tends to become.

Your self-knowledge is gained through groups that come together for a common purpose and goal. You may enjoy joining in with groups, clubs, and friends. You will also have a strong need for personal goals and visions.

TRINE URANUS Orb 3°28' Applying
You are inventive and use your unique talents well. People are attracted to your easy-going sense of individuality. You are interested in out of the ordinary pursuits. As a child you may have perceived of your father as being unique and inventive, but in some way emotionally distant or detached. He may have even been missing from the home.

Regardless of whether you're a male or female, the very first love of your life was your mother (or if mom was absent, then another mother figure in your environment). The Moon symbolizes the unconscious, instincts, and what you need to feel nurtured in your life.

With the Moon in Capricorn, you generally feel more emotionally secure when your day to day life is structured and/or when you are working hard. You may not feel valuable to others unless you're pulling more than your own weight?

Because of all this, you may experience great difficulty in your ability to relax and "let go." You may also at times appear to others as being emotionally distant or cold.

All of this is primarily because, as an infant, you may have experienced your mother as having been strict, authoritarian, and demanding perfect behavior. She may have also appeared to your infant eyes as somewhat emotionally cold and distant.

It could be that your mother's love may have been limited in some way, and she may have prone to depression. Or perhaps Mom was afraid that coddling you too much would spoil you? Was her favorite saying: "God helps those who help themselves." Or was it: "You've got to pull yourself up by your own bootstraps!"

The Moon is the "place" where we go for comfort when scared.... and, as adults, we tend to unconsciously nurture ourselves in much the same way we subjectively experienced our mothers nurturing and caring for us when we were very young children. So, when under stress, you likely keep yourself emotionally safe and secure by drawing strict emotional boundaries and limitations between yourself and others. When feeling threatened by an unexpected crisis, you may generally feel safer when taking over duty and responsibility and by quickly getting in control (and on top) of the situation.

With the Moon in the earthy sign of Capricorn? Physical closeness, touch, and affection are often the best ways your "significant other" can express (and reassure) you of their love. (i.e. A hug a day keeps the doctor away.) Likewise, your lover withholding simple everyday physical expressions of love and affection is an ironclad, guaranteed way to make you feel all alone and unloved. There will be other times (of your choosing) when your partner needs to allow you to emotionally and physically withdraw.

Looking for a hobby guaranteed to relax you? (Trust me... you need a hobby!) Build stuff. Build a tree house, build a model airplane, build a garden. Volunteering to teach someone a new practical skill (that will enable them to get ahead in life) might be just the ticket. Or if you're of the more adventurous outdoorsy type - then climbing mountains and/or going on long nature hikes might also serve to lower your blood pressure.

C.G. Jung wrote, in The Development of Personality, "In every adult there lurks a child-an eternal child, something that is always becoming, is never completed, and calls for unceasing care, attention and education. That is the part of the human personality that wants to develop and become whole."

The Moon is generally a happy camper in this house. With the Moon in this house, your inner-child seeks to nurture itself and gain a sense of security through your family and traditional. The home and family life provide you with emotional sustenance. At home you feel safe.

TRINE MERCURY Orb 5°13' Applying
Here's one of your gifts from the universe (if you choose to use it).... you have the opportunity to express your feelings and thoughts in an effective manner. All things being equal, you have the ability to make decisions and choices based on a mix of heart and mind. You may be a charming person, at times manipulative.

TRINE VENUS Orb 4°14' Separating
You are pleasant and charming. You have a talent for harmonious relationships, for being able to achieve a balance of give and take in relationships, and for creating beauty around you. You have artistic and creative talents.

As a male - as an adult you may feel a continuing 'inner-tension' between needing a companion who is a lover versus needing a companion who is seen as a mother.

SEXTILE SATURN Orb 6°53' Separating
Here's one of your gifts from the universe (if you choose to use it).... Unbeknownst to others, you may be painfully shy and secretly lacking in self-confidence. You may carry the belief that your emotional needs will never get met. As an infant you may have perceived a lack of warmth and affection from your mother. You may even have decided you were bad and unlovable.

As a result, as a young adult you may have been drawn to relationships with partners who couldn't respond to you in the manner that you needed. By instinctually being drawn to people who ultimately couldn't nurture your emotional needs - in this unconscious way you managed to turn all your worst fears about yourself into a self-fulfilling prophecy.

As you grow older and work on your self-esteem you have the opportunity to build yourself a lasting maturity. You will have the opportunity to learn how to emotionally nurture yourself. And by learning to nurture yourself, you will as a result be able to have better, more emotionally satisfying relationships.

OPPOSITION PLUTO Orb 0°57' Applying
Does it ever seem like each time you manage to get emotionally comfortable and start feeling safe and secure, something "unexpected" happens that (once again) makes your life more emotionally complicated? That's Moon-Pluto! Conflict arises in your life through your relationships with dramatic and intense individuals.

Temper, temper, temper… you are likely an intensely emotional person, often prone to extreme highs and lows. You love emotional drama and intensity whether you admit it or not. As an adult, you experience a love-hate element in your relationships that is ultimately a reflection of how you deep down feel about yourself. You need to accept change in your life and channel the intensity into a suitable creative project.

I try to be extra cautious when describing Moon-Pluto aspects because there are so many different possibilities and difficult emotional images arising from this particular combination of archetypal energies.

As a child - in way or another - you perceived and tapped into the darker, more intense side of your mother's emotions.

There are many different possible scenarios.... but you may have felt in some inexplicable way violated by your mother - you may have simply tapped into and thus became aware of her depressions and darker moods and she may have in turn filled you with her many fears.... or (in a worst case scenario) she may have fit the archetypal pattern of the emotionally 'devouring mother' an used you as an emotional replacement for a inadequate relationship with your father....

To the medieval alchemists, Mercury was the metal symbolizing duality - metallic yet liquid , matter yet spirit, cold yet fiery.... the metal uniting all the opposites.... the substance Mercury only adheres to precious metals; metaphorically Mercury can show us the way to find spiritual gold.... Trickster, Traveler, Guide of Souls....

Known to the Greeks as Hermes, the messenger god.... protector of athletes, thieves, travelers and merchants.... He is the god of the unexpected, of luck, of coincidence, of synchronicity. Whenever things seem fixed, rigid, 'stuck,' Mercury introduces fluidity, motion, new beginnings - and the confusion which inevitably precedes new beginnings.

What type of learning best suited you as a child growing up?

The element that Mercury can often give insight and clues into the way a child (or adult) thinks.

A child with Mercury located in an earth sign will often seek to understand the practical side of things; they may wish to know how an idea can be implemented before they approach it, taking the idea on board. However, this Mercury can get stuck fast if a clear path forward can't be seen.

With Mercury in Libra, you are a diplomat and peacemaker, often acting as a go-between in relationships. You can be a good communicator, often putting others at their ease, with your excellent skills of diplomacy. Arguments and quarrels may likely upset you, as you prefer harmony and balance in your communications.

You may have difficulty knowing your own thoughts, particularly when you are in large groups of people. You likely have a strong imagination, and you have the ability to become a spokesperson for the masses. You may also find that you have some sort of psychic abilities.

SEXTILE PLUTO Orb 4°15' Separating
Here's one of your gifts from the universe (if you choose to use it).... You are able to research topics and form your own opinion. You may be impatient with superficial understandings.

With Venus in Virgo, you often will seek out meaningful relationships with a practical basis. You will want your partner to be precise, neat and punctual. You may expect perfection. You will enjoy having detailed analytical conversations.

You have a love of abandoning yourself to the great unknown. You may have a tendency to become so consumed with pursuing a beautiful future that you end up failing to see and appreciate the beauty in the present. You learn to value the world's beauty as a reflection of yourself.

SQUARE JUPITER Orb 7°43' Separating
You have a tendency to be extravagant and self-centered. You greatly enjoy the fun side of life, but when the going gets tough you may tend to easily lose interest and then wander off for greener pastures.

OPPOSITION SATURN Orb 2°39' Separating
Uh oh! Love is serious and difficult business with you. Chances are that you have an unconscious life belief that "love is always hard and inevitably ends up in painful emotions." Thus you may experience difficulty being assertive in your relationships. Because you unconsciously fear relationships and commitment, in your relationship you tend to either be the one in control or to choose a partner who tries to control you. To compound matters, because of an innate fear of confrontation when in relationships, you may tend to shy away from any sort of emotionally ugly disputes. The problems may have started with your relationship with your parents. One of your parents may have been too strict and consequently you fear expressing yourself.

All of this is to say that your fears that "love is always hard and ends up in pain" often end up being a self-fulfilling prophecy based on way you act and react when in relationships. As you grow older it will helpful for you to better learn how to successfully relate to other people. The good news (and yes there is some good news) is that your early in experiences limiting relationships can ultimately provide you with a firmer foundation on which to form a committed, satisfying, and lasting relationship.

CONJUNCTION NEPTUNE Orb 6°41' Separating
You yearn for romance within your personal relationships. You are seeking an ideal and perfect partner, who only exists in fairy tales. You become disillusioned with the imperfections of relationships and seek solace in a fantasy world. You need to learn how face the realities and imperfections of yourself and others. Then you will be able to share beauty, art and creative pursuits with your partners.

SEXTILE PLUTO Orb 5°11' Applying
Here's one of your gifts from the universe (if you choose to use it).... You are an intense and committed partner. You place importance on relationships and require a similar commitment from your partner. Venus touching Pluto is a very powerful and seductive energy. It is the image and power of the mythological Medusa. The Medusa was the most beautiful of the three Gorgon sisters. The Gorgons were three ladies who had writhing, venomous snakes growing out of their heads and who turned men into stone just by looking at them! In spite of their monstrous condition, the sisters were terrifyingly beautiful and seductive to behold. No man encountering the infamous Gorgons (knowing it was instant death) could avert his gaze from the terrifyingly beautiful Gorgon sisters...

With this image in your chart, you can at times be unreasonable, demanding, and controlling in your expectations of the people around you. Dramatic crisis and intensity may also tend to play a key role in your most personal relationships. You are disappointed when others fail to soar to great emotional heights and plummet the emotional depths by your side. On a more positive note you are fiercely loyal and committed with an ability to fight any injustice.

However, the really good news is that as you grow older and (hopefully) wiser, you will have opportunities in learning how to positively redirect and transform these powerful and seductive energies into some sort of demanding, but positive and creative pursuits. You see… when the Medusa's head was ultimately severed from her body at the neck, the beautiful powerful winged horse Pegasus sprang out of the wound.
Another image that might be helpful is that of the Kundalini coiling snake energy of some Eastern traditions. Kundalini can be described as a great reservoir of creative energy originating at the base of the spine. The image of a coiling snake communicates and puts forth the notion of vast untapped energy. With the "awakening" of this energy, according to a least one yogi: "Kundalini cures you, she improves you, and she bestows all the blissful things upon you. She takes you away from the worries of the grosser level."

If you think about for just a second… it's a pretty awesome image and privilege. I have a similar image and theme in my life, and so I must admit that coming to grips with this powerful energy is much easier said than done. However, it's in your (and my) best interest to learn how to use it wisely.

SQUARE CHIRON Orb 0°05' Separating
You will likely experience emotional pain in your relationships. (Like you needed an astrologer to tell you that?) The trick is that you may have difficulty relaxing and trusting enough to experience the simple joy and beauty of intimate your relationships. If you can face and resolve early childhood feelings of rejection, then you can develop a stronger sense of empathy for others close to you.

You have a strong need to express your personal creativity. You may display dramatic and confident behavior, and like to make a big impact on your surroundings. You may also be arrogant.

You tend to be ambitious, possibly seeking power through your career. This may involve a battle for top position. You need autonomy and independence in whatever your chosen profession.

TRINE JUPITER Orb 2°46' Applying
You are enthusiastic with an endless source of energy. You could direct your energy to achievement in sports, politics or travel.

With Mars in aspect to Jupiter, there is often an enthusiasm to assert yourself and grow. Your contagious enthusiasm is often able to bring forth the best in others.

Careful.... and don't take it over the top! If you get a little too full of yourself, you may think you're endowed by a higher power and have all the answers. You likely have several of the answers - but trust me... you don't have all the answers..

SQUARE URANUS Orb 2°48' Separating
There is a need to express something that is unique and original. You may feel the need to express your high energy level by taking chances. You may be attracted to dangerous sports. You have great courage. You may feel the need to get your enormous energy levels under some control and with effort you can eventually develop self restraint. This can make you invaluable as a leader, usually in a career where your level of courage is appreciated. It will likely not be in a mundane and/or boring area. You can be at times accident prone. At times you feel the frustration of your impulsive nature. You need to learn to curb your spontaneity a little and think before you speak.

It would be a big help to you to find a positive outlet to release all that pent up energy. It also wouldn't be a bad idea if you'd occasionally (accent on occasionally) give yourself permission to do something shocking and disruptive.

In Greek mythology Chiron was a centaur. Centaurs were creatures that had a horse's body and legs, yet they had a human's torso and arms. As a rule, these half-horse, half-human Centaurs had the reputation for being wild and unbridled critters, being primarily known for their insatiable sexual appetites. They belonged to the wild "Dionysian crowd." You know - the sort of unsavory folks your parents warned you about hanging out with (so they fascinated you all the more). And, for the most part, centaurs weren't exactly on very friendly terms with mortals.

The centaur, Chiron, was the exception to this centaurian rule. Chiron was known as a wise teacher, healer and prophet. The Greek mythology encircling the figure of Chiron, The Wounded Healer, is of great assistance in acquiring a deeper understanding of the energies reflected by the Chiron in our sky. In the birth chart, Chiron reflects the archetypal energies of the shamanic wounded healer and teacher who potentially lives within each one of us. Chiron's placement in the birth chart reflects an accidental wounding we received (most often, but not always, in early childhood). This Chironian wounding is an injury to our instinctual nature and a wounding of trust.

The wounding was generally brought about as the result of a stupid, careless, thoughtless accident... so normally there's no one who can be blamed with purposely, intentionally, maliciously wounding us. The wounding was generally done by someone close to us... someone we thought well of and trusted.
So the wounding is a wounding of trust... And, further... a Chironian wound is an injury that will never, ever totally heal. We learn, suffer, and ultimately grow in soul from dealing with this sensitive area of wounded instinct and trust... but the wounding will never totally heal and go away.

This Chironian wounding can, later in life and after much personal struggle, then become a special area where we can help others by the sharing of our healing and teaching abilities.

With Chiron in Gemini you may not trust your own thought processes, or you may fear communicating with others. You may have suffered a communication problem as a child. Early schooling may have been painful. You may also have the ability to tap into universal or spiritual creative ideas. You may teach in a way that benefits humanity.

You may feel rejected for your beliefs. Your wounds may force a change of philosophy, and later you may become a teacher of higher knowledge.

The Ascendant is your guide on the hero's journey through this lifetime. With Libra on the Ascendant, your approach to life is that of fair play and taking into consideration others' thoughts and feelings. Harmony is important. Human relationships will be important to you.

With your Ascendant in Libra, the Ruling Planet of your chart is the planet Venus. So pay a little extra attention to the description of Venus in your chart (Sign, House, and Aspects). By the way....I wish I had a nickel for every time someone told me 'that can't be my Ascendant, I'm not like that!' Often the Ascendant's energies are so close to us that we're the last ones to recognize it. Give it some time to grow on you....

Here's a nutshell list with some of the energies traditionally associated with Libra:
On the positive side: Even-handed, harmonious, artistic, diplomatic, balancing, and strong sense of fairness. On the negative side: Can be over-compromising, appeasing, and judgmental.

Libra is in the element of air... stimulated mentally, detached perspective.... Motivated and recharged by intellectual concepts, social interchanges and the communication of ideas and/or ideals. The element of air (barring other factors) tends to produce a fairly active mind. With the Ascendant in Libra, the world is approached with reason, balance, and a sense of fairness. Everything (everyone) is open to analysis. Even-handed, harmonious, artistic, diplomatic, balancing, and strong sense of aesthetic beauty are characteristics typically associated with Libra.

Ruled by the planet Venus and symbolized by the Scales of Justice, Libra is concerned with making choices, evaluations, weighing all the evidence, and maintaining balance. Libra can see all the many sides of an argument or issue. And in the interest of fair play, Libra really doesn't like making a final decision until every last bit of the data and documentation has at last been sent in and accounted for. Unfortunately, Libra knows that there's always one more bit of information which could be gathered, if only enough time is given...

Barring other factors in your chart, Libra is quite social and sensitive to what's going on around them. Libra's sense of inner-harmony is closely related to (and affected by) what's going on around them. Disharmony, arguments, and disputes going on in Libra's immediate environment disturbs their sense of inner-harmony and equilibrium. So for Libra's own sense of harmony, they often end up acting as peacemakers in their environment.

Social interaction with other people is vital to Libran energy. Other people act as reflective mirrors through which Libran energy can learn more about their own ideas and thoughts. Libra generally discovers clarification regarding what they think about a particular matter or situation only after their first hearing what other people think and have to say on the matter.

Here's a story just for you, Libra... It's the story of a young Trojan Prince by the name of Paris. And the story is called "The Judgment of Paris." "The Judgment of Paris" is about making choices and accepting the consequences of choices made... In our story, Paris had to choose between three different goddesses.

The First Miss Universe Pageant
These three Olympian goddesses were embroiled in a dispute as to which one of them was the most beautiful. They brought the dispute before Zeus (the chief Olympian god), but in his vast wisdom Zeus bowed out. Zeus wisely determined that the mortal man Paris - being a young, macho, virile stud - (not unlike myself) should judge which of the three goddesses was the most beautiful.

The three goddesses were accompanied by the messenger god, Hermes, who explained the entire situation to the mortal Paris. Paris first tried squirming his way out of this fix by saying that all the goddesses were equally beautiful and it was surely impossible to make such a decision. Unfortunately for Paris, splitting the prize was not an option that the three goddesses were willing to accept. However, each of goddesses swore not to hold a grudge if another was selected as the most beautiful (being young and naive, Paris actually believed them).

The first goddess to offer Paris gifts was Hera... (Hera was the wife of Zeus - and now you know why Zeus had wisely decided to bow out....) Hera offered Paris power, wealth and prestige. Next up was the warrior goddess Athena... She offered Paris wisdom and bravery in battle. Finally, it was the seductive Aphrodite's turn... and Aphrodite offered Paris the gift of love, beauty, desire, and passion...

Three Guesses?
Okay, I'll give you three guesses which one of the three goddesses Paris chose that day as being the most beautiful (and the first two guesses don't count)... Mighty Aphrodite (and her gift of love, beauty, desire and passion) was of course the clear choice for our young hero, Paris.

The Consequences...
Hera and Athena turned away with heavy frowns visibly showing on their faces - and both goddesses were, from that moment on, enemies to all of the Trojan race (seems they'd already forgotten their promise not to hold a grudge).

Making an already very long story short - Paris (already married) later met Helen of Troy ("the face that launched a thousand ships") and they fell madly in love with one another. Therefore, Aphrodite made good her promise to Paris with the beautiful (but also already married) Helen. Unfortunately, the choice Paris made (and the resulting passionate love match) then led directly to the bloody, tragic Trojan Wars. The Trojan Wars lasted fourteen years, thousands died, and the entire Trojan civilization was destroyed.

Choices... With the Ascendant in Libra, you know only too well how important it is to weigh all the options - because you know that every choice made has a consequence.

The ascendant forms the 1st house cusp in most house systems, so this placement has no particular meaning.

"Mission Impossible"

The North Node describes a special quest and/or assignment in an area of personality growth development that we are given by the Universe. I might as well tell you up front that our North Node Quests are NOT easy. In fact, for the most part, your North Node Quest is NOT going to be something that you find fun, enjoyable, and/or palatable. Normally, the North Node Quest is NOT something that you especially want to do and/or that you're particularly "good at." The North Node Quest is most generally going to be an area of life and/or a behavior style that you're (spoken gently) rather lousy at. But hey... it builds character! All in all, I guess you might say that the North Node Quest is your very own "Mission Impossible."

This is a quest for maturity. You have a tendency to become over- dependent on other people and then cling to them as if you were a child. You have a tendency to burden others with your real or imagined emotional problems wanting and waiting on them to take a parental role. You will spend much of your life searching for a father-figure until (if and when) you can rise to the challenge of becoming responsible for your own life. You need to let go of your personal problems and work towards your own respected place in the world. Don't feel like the "Lone Stranger." Yep, you guessed it. I've got this same thankless quest. So let's join hands and start climbing the mountain. Okay now, I don't want to hear any grumbling in the chorus. Easing up on you for a just a second... the truth is... most folks are never fully able to accomplish their North Node Quest. Would it help if I confessed that I'm not currently doing all that well on my North Node Quest? My only suggestion is: just try not to blow it TOO badly... (This page will self-destruct in 10 seconds.)

This represents a quest to understand interactions between people. You need to leave behind your varied belief systems of past lives, and find a viable form of communication.

You need a safe and secure profession, and caring for others is often a key. You will experience strong emotions about your public status.
