You
know... sometimes you just can't see the forest for the trees.
On
September 29, 2008 at 9:01
pm EDT with Mercury (commerce) still stationary and located
in the 6th house conjuncting the planet
Mars (action) and quincunx Uranus (surprise, shock) US President
George W Bush went before the nation to announce what's currently
being called the Economic Pearl Harbor of our time
and the dire need
for an immediate
massive
700 billion bail out of Wall Street.
The
rescue plan (bail out) was finally approved by Congress yesterday. Wall
Street (with all the good, the bad, and the ugly) is, like
it or not, directly linked to Main Street. No one is thrilled
about
bailing Wall Street out - but when Wall Street falls, Main
Street falls.
We're
angry... we're afraid... and we're pointing fingers.
Mercury's
Message
I told you to stay
tuned, as I was sure the trickster planet Mercury (along
with Mars and Uranus) had plenty more surprises in store for
all
of us...
My
surprise came late last night while watching the HBO's
Real Time with Bill Maher.
Each
week Maher has 3 guest panelists to chat with. Last night the
comedian Gary Shandling was one of Maher's panel guests.
Shandling and Maher,
along
with the
other
2 panelists
- actor Alex Baldwin and CNN journalist Christiane Amanpour
- were discussing the Biden-Palin
debate. Naturally the subject of Iraq and the surge came
up.
I
confess I wasn't expecting much from mischievous Mercury... er...
I mean... Gary... when he suddenly rhetorically asked the panel
what
was 911 all about?
I'm
not going to be able to quote Gary word for word... but the
gist was that he reminded the panel that 911 was about Al-Qaeda
attempting to bring down the
American economy as symbolized by Wall Street.
Everyone's
arguing about whether or not the surge is working in Iraq
and whether we're winning the war in Iraq... and while we've
all been busy in partisan bickering and our government
has been literally pouring billions and billions of
dollars
into the
bottomless
pit
of Iraq and Wall Street has been allowed to run wild...
America's economy has been rapidly going to hell in a handbasket...
With
Wall Street and American capitalism seemingly on the verge
of coming down, Osama bin Laden and the rest of his Al-Qaeda
cronies
must be
thrilled
shitless!
While
it didn't last long, everyone on the set was stunned and momentarily
left speechless...
It
would seem that in our perfect storm of Bush's Iraq, a petty
Congress, continued deregulation and greedy Wall Street bankers,
and Americans feeling it their birth right to live larger than
they should...
Conservatives,
liberals, and moderates - we have all taken
our eye off the ball...
You
know... sometimes you just can't see the forest for the trees.
